At beautiful Walter Plantz Square, with palm trees, fountains and an ocean view, you will find the Pier Beach Bar.
Previously they served mainly Dutch snacks and dishes such as Frikadel (Dutch Sausage), Bal Gehakt (Meat Ball), Kroket (Beef Stew in tempura), Kaas souffle (Dutch Cheese patty), Bamischijf (Bami in tempura) etc. But over time, the place evolved and The Pier Beach bar now truly represents the essence of the Caribbean, a mix of cultures!
The kitchen offers the same great selection of Dutch snacks but extended its menu with South American and Caribbean dishes, snacks, and delicacies.
Yessica will generously pour you rum, whiskey, gin, jenever or any of their signature cocktails, making this the perfect place for a drink during the day or night. Food recommendations:
- Dutch herring with onions (seasonal)

- South American snack platter
- Kibbeling (Battered Cod-Fish)
The Pier Beach Bar and Restaurant is great for families; the kids can rollerblade, cycle or scooter around on the boardwalk or jump from the docks and play around in the crystal clear waters of Great Bay Beach.
Meanwhile, the adults get to enjoy music, sports games, drinks and food. TIP: This place also perfectly lends itself to outdoor birthday parties, get-togethers with family or friends, or a night out in Philipsburg. Enjoy the Capital!

Excellent food and service with great drinks and beautiful sunsets to view. Staff went out of their way to make our dining/drinking experience the best. Highly recommended!
The place is awesome with attending staff. The kitchen offers a great selection of Dutch snacks and a variety of dishes. The beautiful view is so peaceful. Will love to visit again!
An excellent, unassuming, and wonderful find. Great variety and fine value tasting menu. Exciting food with a nice presentation, service, and inventiveness. I enjoyed eating a Dutch snack platter. Book The Pier to avoid disappointment it’s worth it!
We came here several times with the Sip & Mural tour and Jessica and Henk always make sure everything is taken care of. A really nice bar to chill around sunset. early evening on the boardwalk before either eating here or elsewhere in Philipsburg. Great Caribbean athmosphere, friendly staff and being Dutch I love the dutch snacks every once in a while!
